The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agrotechnology programme responds to the market demand for trained and skilled manpower in the food agricultural industry. This programme aims to produce Industry-ready Graduates.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agrotechnology programme is committed to developing students’ agriculture management skills to a level that will allow them to succeed in the academic programmes of i-CATS UC. Through innovative, research-based educational practices and hands-on training with industry, the program aims to help students achieve academic readiness by fostering their intellectual curiosity. As they develop their knowledge through study skills and critical thinking, students will integrate independent and collaborative learning with the appropriate use of information technology. It also aims to forge collaborations and links with industry players through the sharing of expertise, knowledge, and experience.
As an industrial-driven institution, i-CATS UC responded to the demand for qualified and skilled professionals in the Agriculture industry.
In 2017, the Chief Minister of Sarawak embarked on the goal of having the state as a net food exporter by 2030. This can only be realized through the adoption of appropriate technology, production systems and the like that will support and drive the growth of the agricultural sector. The blueprint for this is spelled out in the Sarawak Digital Economy and Agriculture is being singled out as the first strategic action in the said blueprint. Those with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agrotechnology can seek a position as:
