The support services are provided by English tutors in i-CATS UC.
The goal of the Language Support Centre is to provide an authentic and rich experience for students to experience the English language in both written and oral forms.
This is done in a supportive and positive environment where students are encouraged to fully engage with the English language in the hopes of achieving accuracy and fluency.

Services
We provide assistance for students on a voluntary basis, who have various written work needs. This may include:essays, presentations, speeches, etc.
Emphasis is placed on original idea development, concise communication of ideas, proper structure and organizational development of a piece of writing, accuracy in grammar, appropriate use of expressions, and comprehension of the differences between written and spoken English
Oral English support is also provided based on the student’s needs. This may include, but would not be limited to:
conversational tutorials
pronunciation training
The tutors will provide timely and progressive feedback, as well as possible suggestions for the future use of the English language.
Audience analysis
Prepare students to speak with greater control and charisma in front of audiences.
Presentation skills – posture, voice, grooming, non verbal communication etc.
Dealing with interference (disruptive members of the audience, technical issues etc.)
Handling Q & A session.

A specified corner will be designated for personal/group reading & discussion.
Assistance will also be provided for students who are preparing to sit for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
