On March 18, 2024, i-CATS University College recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wakayama University, Japan. The MoU was signed by representatives of Wakayama University – Dr. Mitsugi Motoyama, President, and Professor Etsuko Higashi, Director (Centre for Tourism Research), and Professor Dr. Shahren Ahmad Zaidi Adruce (Vice Chancellor and representative of i-CATS UC) together with Professor Dr. Kopli Bin Bujang (Pro Vice Chancellor, Industry and Community Engagement). The signing was witnessed by Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. Haji Abdul Aziz Bin Dato’ Haji Husain, Chairman and Pro Chancellor of i-CATS University College; all Pro Vice Chancellors – Professor Dato’ Dr. Shazali Bin Abu Mansor, Professor Dr. Kopli Bin Bujang, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Leo Sing Lim, Madam Rosmawati Priman; Tuan Mohd Melintang Abdullah, Registrar; Professor Dr. Hiram Ting, professor in-charge between i-CATS UC and Wakayama University; and Dean (Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality).

The partnership between i-CATS UC, Sarawak, and Wakayama University, Japan, is rooted in a shared commitment to academic excellence, research collaboration, and cultural exchange. Through this MoU, both institutions aim to foster collaborative initiatives in areas such as student mobility programs, joint research projects, faculty development, and the sharing of best practices.
