Introduction

The Master of Engineering research programme is committed to producing graduates who can undertake independent research that further advances the fundamental and applied knowledge on education in the country and the wider intellectual communities. Research fields of interest are Electrical Instrumentation, Manufacturing Engineering, Advanced Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy System and Principles of Communication Engineering.

 

Objective

The objectives of this program are to produce knowledgeable, skilful, innovative and competent graduates by offering high quality, relevant, innovative, cost effective, hands-on and skilled based education in area of Engineering

Entry Requirements

 

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering or Engineering Technology or related with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
  • A recognised bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subjects to rigorous internal assessment; or
  • A recognised bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted as subjects to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the related field and rigorous internal assessment.
  • Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) based on (i) to (iii).
  • Other equivalent qualifications approved by the Senate.

 

For international students, a minimum IELTS Score of 5.5 or its equivalent (eg. TOEFL-525; TOEFL Computer Test-196; TOEFL internet Test 69-70 or MUET Band 3) is required.
