Introduction

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Entrepreneurship at i-CATS University College is a research-based programme designed to cultivate innovative scholars, researchers, and entrepreneurial leaders who contribute to the advancement of entrepreneurship knowledge and practice. The PhD in Entrepreneurship is a research programme by thesis (dissertation). The PhD student/ candidate is placed under the supervision of an experienced member of academic staff or a supervisory panel. The planned activities or structure of the programme include:

• Student Progress Report which is done every semester until the student graduates
• Research Methodology Seminar and Presentation
• Three core courses:
a. Managerial Business Analytics
b. Technopreneurship
c. Strategic Organizational Management
• Proposal Defense
• Research Presentations at the Faculty
• Publish two (2) research papers in conference/journal relevant to the field
• Thesis examination
• Viva-Voce or oral examination
• Submit final thesis for purpose of graduation

The Faculty and Centre of Graduate Studies will evaluate students’ achievement on a regular basis. Registered students are to produce theses that will be evaluated by the examiners and must defend their research findings in oral presentations/ examinations. A student who has satisfied the University Graduate Committee in all aspects of their work is eligible for the award of the PhD in Entrepreneurship.
