COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM - KIDSWEB: UPLIFTING READING SKILLS FOR CHILDREN, PARENTS, AND TEACHERS

21 July 2024 – KIDSWEB: Uplifting Reading Skills for Children, Parents, and Teachers was a remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to all members of the Faculty of Education (FEDN) and the students of MPU3223 (Leadership Skills), led by Mdm. Natasha Amira, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of this program.

KIDSWEB is an intensive and targeted program designed to address the specific needs of individuals with dyslexia, as well as their parents and teachers. The program aims to provide fun and structured literacy activities for children with dyslexia, while also offering a platform for parents and teachers to share strategies for overcoming challenges in supporting individuals with dyslexia.

A special thanks to our Guest Speaker, Associate Prof. Dr. Julia Lee, for her insightful session with parents, titled “Empowering Dyslexic Learners: Strategies and Success at Home and in the Classroom.” We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Dyslexia Association of Sarawak (DASwk) for their outstanding contributions, which played a crucial role in making this event a resounding success.

We are truly grateful for the active participation and enthusiasm of the parents, children, and teachers. Their presence at the event highlights their commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with dyslexia. Additionally, a big thank you to our sponsors for their generous support in making this event a reality.

“Every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way.” – George Evans

Together, we are making a difference. Until next time!
