[Kuching, 10th November 2024] – In the recent MASISWA (Majlis Sukan IPTS Malaysia organized by the Ministry of Higher Education) Sarawak Zone, hosted by i-CATS Universtity College and co-hosted by Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, as well as, SIDMA College Sarawak, saw the i-CATS University College’s contingent winning one Silver in eSports mixed team category and two Bronze in Chess for both men team and women team categories.  The athletes from a total of 15 institutions competed from 7 to 9 November 2024 in a variety of sports. 

The Silver medallists for esports are: Gerald Gau Anak Billy (Bachelor in Tourism and Hospitality), Darren Munji Eutrie (Bachelor in Tourism and Hospitality), Douglas Agan Alan (Diploma in Software Engineering), Alvin Chong Zhi Kai (Bachelor of Software Engineering(Honours)) and Dewayne Olery Tay Khing Wei (Bachelor of Software Engineering(Honours)). 

Meanwhile, the Bronze medallists for chess men’s team category: Jordan Chew Ik Loong (Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours)), Joshua Alexus Baja anak Jantan (Bachelor of Science in Agrotechnology), Lai Neng Yaw (Foundation in Science) and William Wester Anak Rijet (Diploma in Culinary Arts) .

The Bronze medallists for chess team women’s team category: Tsok Xiew Wei (Bachelor of Science in Agrotechnology), Mohainie Aleqsha Binti Mosidi (Diploma in Electrical Power), Angel Ling Ching Ee (Bachelor of Software Engineering(Honours)) and Jong Hui Ru (Bachelor in Tourism and Hospitality).
