[Kuching, 4th July 2025] Last Friday a team of lecturers from Faculty of Computing and Software Engineering (FCSE), headed by Ms. Nur Elana Bt Mohd Saferino, the Head of Programme for Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours).  participated in SMK ST Mary’s Education Fair.  The FCSE team caused a buzz when students excitedly tried the Face Expression Challenge by mimicking various emotions, which were recognized using Artificial Intelligence and computer vision in order to win prizes.  Another attraction being Virtual Reality experience, in which students donned Pico 4 headset, immersing themselves in computer generated environment to play a simple game.  According to Ms Elana, she hoped through these interactive and fun exhibits, students would be enthused to pursue interests in Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology in general.  Both are important to realize Sarawak’s Digital Economy.  Other participating lecturers include Mdm. Norahima Annuar and Mdm Siti Nurhasanah Mohamad.
