FCSE Seminar and Expo 2024

[Kuching, 24th July 2024] – The Faculty of Computing and Software Engineering organized the 6th edition of its annual showcase, the FCSE Seminar and Expo 2024, on 24th July 2024. The event, themed “Sustainable Innovation: Fostering Growth and Resilience through AI, AR, VR, and Computing Technologies,” featured speakers from Telkom University Indonesia, with Dr. Eng. Alfian Akbar Gozali discussing Artificial Intelligence, and Sarawak Information System Sdn Bhd, represented by Mohd Zul Hafiq Bin Mohd Fadzli, who spoke on AI applications in the industry. His colleagues, Ivan Kho Wen How and Thamaratul Izzah Binti Azman, presented on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Additionally, Jimsley Lim from ARx addressed Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality, and Antionette Goh from SDEC spoke on the state’s digital blueprint and the role of her agency. 

 

Exhibitors competed for prizes judged by successful alumni and key players in the software industry. Companies involved, either as industrial guests or employers of alumni, included MEO Studio, Sarawak Industry Group for High Technology, and Softworld, among others. The principal sponsor was Sarawak Information System Sdn Bhd, with additional support from Kiratech, ARx, and others. The event was graced by the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Shazali Bin Abu Mansor, who presented souvenirs and awards.
