Introduction

The Foundation in Science (FIS) programme will be a gateway for students to pursue Bachelor’s degree programmes. The Foundation in Science programme is committed to developing students’ science related skills to a level that will allow them to succeed in the academic programmes of i-CATS UC. Through innovative, research-based educational practices, the programme aims to help students achieve academic readiness by fostering their intellectual curiosity. As they develop their knowledge through study skills and critical thinking, students will integrate independent and collaborative learning with the appropriate use of information technology.

Entry Requirements

  • Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with a minimum of FIVE (5) credits; OR 
  • Passed the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in THREE (3) subjects; OR
  • Passed O Level with at least Grade C in FIVE (5) subjects OR
  • Other qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. 

Note: For entry qualifications for foundation courses that have areas of specialisation, for example, medicine, engineering, and accounting, students need additional subject credits (for example, mathematics, additional mathematics, and science) at the SPM/SPMV/O-Level level or a recognised equivalent subject to the requirements of the field offered.
