Introduction

The Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering with Honours programme is designed with a broad curriculum that provides students with flexible pathways, centred around core aerospace engineering areas such as aerodynamics, propulsion, flight mechanics, and aerospace structures, while also offering exposure to specialised topics including aircraft spacecraft design, systems integration, engineering ethics, and flight control systems.

Objective

The objective of this programme is to produce knowledgeable, skilful, innovative, and industry-ready graduates by delivering high-quality, relevant, hands-on, and technology- driven education in the field of aerospace engineering.

Career Opportunities

Aerospace Engineering graduates are highly versatile and in demand across multiple sectors in Malaysia and internationally. Graduates are especially well-suited for careers in the following industry sectors and specialisations:

  • Aerospace engineer (design, analysis, and testing of aircraft and spacecraft)
  • Propulsion systems engineer
  • Aerodynamics specialist
  • Space mission planner or engineer
  • Materials and structures engineer
  • Flight test engineer
  • Systems engineer for aerospace applications
  • Research and development engineer
  • Aerospace project manager

Graduates may find opportunities with leading aerospace companies, government space agencies, research institutions and cutting-edge startups. The program’s alignment with Sarawak’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 further amplifies its relevance. As Sarawak strives to achieve high-income status through industrialization, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability, graduates are positioned to be key contributors to this vision. Graduates can also engage in cross-disciplinary applications, such as leveraging aerospace technologies to improve communication infrastructure, optimize logistics, and support remote sensing initiatives for agriculture and natural resource management.
