Introduction
The Civil Engineering programme at i-CATS seeks to combine excellence in academic and technical training with service to society. The goal of our academic programme in civil engineering is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to address a variety of societal needs.
Objective
The objective of our Diploma in Civil Engineering (DCE) is to produce competent workforce in the field of civil engineering with a balance of excellent knowledge in both the theoretical and practical aspects. This is to ensure the adaptability of our graduates in fulfilling the ever demanding needs of the industries and society.
Career Opportunities
Our Diploma programme prepared students for admission into workforce as technicians and assistant engineers in civil engineering field. It is also aimed at equipping individuals with fundamental engineering background for the purpose of pursuing undergraduate study in engineering or other related disciplines.
Entry Requirements
- Passed SPM/SPMV or its equivalent with minimum 3 credits including Mathematics & 1 Science/Technical subject & a pass in English; OR
- Passed STPM or its equivalent with minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) and passed SPM with credit in Mathematics & Science subject and a pass in English at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
- Completed Certificate in Engineering/Engineering Technology (Level 3, MQF) with CGPA 2.00; OR
- Passed Skill Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in related field / Passed Malaysian Vocational and Technical Certificate (equivalent to MQF Level 3) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.0 AND passed SPM with a minimum of 1 credit in SPM and a pass in Mathematics & English at SPM level or its equivalent AND One (1) year’s working experience in a related field or completed a one-semester Bridging Programme; OR
- Passed UEC with Grade B in 3 subjects including Mathematics and 1 Science/Technical/Vocational subject and a pass in English; OR
- SMU3/SMA/SMK/MA with average mark of 55 AND English Language Proficiency Requirement: IELTS with score of Band 5.0; OR
- Any other equivalent qualification(s) recognized by the Malaysian Government.
