Introduction

The programme explores various themes across the dynamic canvas of hospitality industry including travel and tourism, lodging, food service, meetings, conventions and expositions, and leisure and recreation. The Diploma in Hotel Management programme equips students with the relevant knowledge and skills to enable them to thrive in the hospitality industry. On completion of the programmes, graduates can explore a wide range of career opportunities in the hospitality industry. Indeed, amidst the dizzying pace of development, countries around the globe are opening their doors to welcome tourists from abroad. Coupled with the ongoing drive to boost domestic tourism, this has resulted in a host of career opportunities for qualified and talented individuals who relish the opportunity to be part of the wave of innovation that has become the hallmark of the hospitality industry. Graduates can look forward to applying for the following positions: Front Desk Officer, Reservationist, Guest Service Agent, Food and Beverage Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor, Sales and Marketing Executive, Food Preparation Officer, Guest Relations Executive, Banquet Coordinator, Event Planner, Catering Business Entrepreneur, Restaurant Owner, Hospitality Lecturer, etc. Graduates may also further their studies in a range of degree programmes. .

Objective

The programme educational objectives are
I. To ensure that students acquire relevant technical knowledge and associated hands-on skills in-line with the industry requirement.
II. To produce graduates who possess effective communication skills and demonstrate good leadership quality in an organization.
III. To equip students with the capability to solve hospitality related issues innovatively, creatively and ethically.
IV. To produce graduates who are able to demonstrate managerial and entrepreneurship skills and recognize the need of lifelong learning for successful career advancement.

Course Fees

A course fee has been set for every graduate course at the college. The fees are determined by the course, not the subjects that comprise the course.

Total Fees for the course is RM 20,400.00

Entry Requirements

i. Passed SPM/SPMV with at least 3 credits in any subject;
OR
ii. Completed Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 Tourist Guide (or in a related field), and passed SPM with at least 1 credit;
OR
iii. Passed Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Senior Middle III with Grade B in any 3 subjects;
OR
iv. Passed GCE O-Level with at least credit in 3 subjects;
OR
v. Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by Malaysian Government.

Duration

The minimum time for Full-time study to complete a module shall be 2.5 years (4 months OJT).
