Listening to Ms Azhfar Raimi Binti Mua’az Johary as she described her daily activities was a heart-warming experience for our team members; brimming with confidence, she thrives, not just survives, in today’s ever-vibrant, 24/7 environment!

At her workplace, she wears many hats. Currently, she is a Manager at Cahaya Eco Prima Sdn. Bhd. where she oversees the solid waste collection operation(s) for various clients in Sarawak. She is also an Executive with a related company, Cahaya Mutiara (Sarawak) Engineering Sdn. Bhd., where she assists to monitor the Human Resources, Administrative and Finance functions. The company provides cleansing services to eleven hospitals in Sarawak. On top of that, she assists in another related company, Vitobest Sdn. Bhd. as a  member of the Technical Team. She shared, “My current job scope requires my attention day and night, seven days a week. After office hours, I have to monitor (remotely) the operations.” That’s multitasking!

Notwithstanding a hectic work schedule, she is also actively involved in the performing arts – she is a member of an avant-garde Borneo indigenous band called Nading Rhapsody. Formed seven years ago, the band has performed at various events throughout Malaysia such as the renowned Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF), Penang World Music Festival, Kuala Lumpur International Arts Festival, Johor Bahru Indigenous Festival and the Rainforest Fringe Festival. The band has also performed overseas, for example Tong Festival 2016 in the Netherlands, ASEAN Music Festival 2017 in the Philippines and the OzAsia Music Festival 2018 in Australia.

With regard to her studies at i-CATS, she shared, “I would like to thank the i-CATS team comprising the teaching and support services staff for their guidance and preparing me for the future! My thanks also goes to Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) for the financial support during my studies.”

She also shared her personal motto: ‘Your respect towards others reflects your inner self.’ Her message to Sarawak Skills and i-CATS students: “As you look forward to the future, make it a habit to plan wisely. Don’t forget to have a back-up plan.”
